The LN Class Experience

Leadership Niagara’s Class Experience program draws on a 28-year tradition of leadership development in the Niagara region.  Designed for a select group of professionals from a diverse group of industries, the LN Experience program is carefully structured to deliver a high standard of leadership development, to improve understanding of leadership concepts and principles, to nurture leadership capacity and to help individuals extend their learning into day-to-day practice.

The Format…

  • Ten monthly sessions that include experiential learning, team discussions, meetings with area leaders and industry experts.
  • Two overnight retreats focus on leadership assessments, teamwork and collaboration, organizational change, and leadership competencies.
  • NEW Coaching and Mentoring program to provide personal support.

The Focus…

Leaders will gain an in depth knowledge and practical understanding of what leadership is and what it is not, build a strong peer learning network, and gain knowledge of issues that impact our region.

Who should apply for the LN Class Experience? Leadership Niagara seeks dynamic and community-minded individuals who live or work in Niagara County and have demonstrated a capacity for leadership in their career achievements and community involvement.

What will Leadership Niagara participants gain? Participants will develop a strong peer learning network and gain an in-depth understanding of challenges and issues impacting Niagara County through dialogue with regional experts in areas such as economic development, health and life sciences, agribusiness, renewable energy, education and workforce development, criminal justice and tourism.

 

Leadership for the Youth of Niagara County (LYNC)

Modeled after the 25 year history and success of Leadership Niagara, LYNC is a first-rate program designed to equip youth leaders with essential skills and motivation to respond to the challenges facing our community.  Since 2001, LYNC has brought together youth leaders from diverse backgrounds throughout Niagara County for experiential leadership training and character development.  Students representing ten high schools in Niagara County have been selected for this year’s program.

LYNC students developed their own tagline:   Learn Today.  Lead Tomorrow.

Coaching and Mentoring Program (CAMP)

Aiming to cultivate sustainable leadership and learning, Leadership Niagara has designed a world-class coaching and mentoring program to benefit current class members.

This bold new initiative will provide leadership development, as well as personal and professional coaching and mentoring competencies to Leadership Niagara members who wish to take part.  Each class member will be uniquely matched with a team of mentors for an entire year.  Mentors represent Leadership Niagara alumni and well as past/present board members.  Additionally, mentors have been interviewed and carefully selected to represent diverse career backgrounds, while demonstrating valuable skills to assist class members.
